How to Make a Tutu Video

For a parent or grandparent, the sight of a child in a ballet tutu can be quite heartwarming. Often, due to distance or scheduling, loved ones are not available to witness the child dancing in her ballet class or even at home. Videos prove a vital tool and resource for connecting absent family members to current family events. Make a video of your child dancing in her tutu and share it with absent, adoring fans.

Instructions

    1

Choose a staging area. The living room usually provides a good amount of space.

    2

Set the tripod up in front of the staging area, placing the camera on the tripod at a level that matches the height of your child.

    3

Place lights to either side of the staging area. For the purposes of a home-video, use regular halogen house lights. Make sure they are set up on either side of the staging area to fill the space with as much light as possible.

    4

Turn the camera on as you ask your child to perform a rehearsed dance in the staging area, while wearing her tutu. Make sure the frame of the camera encompasses the entire staging area.

    5

Press “Record” on the camera and ask your child to perform the dance again.

    6

Stop recording when the dance is complete.
