Apple’s iMac computer line is characterized by its all-in-one form factor that has the computer tower and the monitor combined together into one unit. The all-in-one configuration makes accessing the internal components of the iMac different than in a standard computer tower.
Instructions
- 1
Shut off your iMac and un plug it from its power source. Disconnect any peripheral cables attached to the computer.
2
Turn the iMac around so that the back of the monitor is facing you.
3
Place the iMac monitor side-down on a flat, clean working surface. Use a towel or cloth between the monitor and the surface.
4
Loosen the three silver screws on the back of the monitor. The screws will not come out entirely, so stop unscrewing each one as it becomes loose.
5
Pull the iMac cover off by pulling it up and away from the monitor by its stand attachment.
